Use Roohts Pakora to make crunchy Chicken Pakoras at home. This popular Indian snack is perfect for tea-time or as an appetiser. The spices used in the marinade and batter give these pakoras a fragrant aroma and a rich, savoury flavour that makes them irresistible.
Ingredients (Serves 4 - 6)
- 200g Pakora Mix
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Paste
- ½ - 1 teaspoon Green Chilli Paste
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Ground Coriander
- ¼ teaspoon Ground Turmeric
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- 750g Chicken Strips
- 70 - 100 ml Water
- Vegetable Oil, for frying
Instructions
- Add Pakora Mix, Garlic Paste, Green Chilli Paste, Cumin, Coriander, Turmeric, Lemon Juice and Water to a bowl with Chicken. Mix through.
- Leave to rest for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile heat the oil.
- Once hot, fry Pakoras in batches in hot oil till crispy, golden and cooked through.
Variations
Use Vegetables instead, such as grated Carrots or Parsnips, sliced Potatoes or Onions, chopped leafy Greens or Corn Kernels.
Spices

Serve with Mint and Yoghurt Sauce
Combine a handful of Coriander with some Mint Leaves, 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds, 2 tablespoon Lemon, ¼ teaspoon Sugar, Salt, 1 cup Plain Yoghurt in a blender and blend till smooth.
