Serves 6
These Masala Lamb Chops are tender, succulent and full of flavour. They are coated in a Masala Paste made up of Roohts Steaks and Chop Seasoning and cooked until they are falling off the bone.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 2 large Onions, diced
- 2 tsp Garlic Paste
- 2 tsp Ginger Paste
- 1 tsp Green Chilli Paste
- 2 tbsp Roohts Steak and Chops Seasoning
- 3 tbsp Tomato Puree
- 4 tbsp Plain Yoghurt, whisked
- 10 Lamb Chops
- 1 large Potato cut into 1 inch cubes
- Salt
- 250 ml Water
Instructions
Heat a large deep pot over medium high heat and add oil.
Once hot, add Cinnamon and Bay Leaves. Cook till fragrant.
About 1 minute.
Add chopped Onions and cook for 5 - 6 minutes until golden brown.
Add Garlic, Ginger and Green Chilli Paste and cook for 2 minutes.
Add Roohts Steak and Chops Seasoning and cook for 2 minutes.
Add Tomato Puree. Cook for 3-4 minutes on low heat.
Whisk Yoghurt in a bowl and then add to the pot.
Cook for 1 - 2 minutes on low.
Add the Lamb Chops, Potatoes and Salt.
Cook for 5 minutes on medium high heat.
Add Water and turn the heat to low.
Cover the pot and cook on low for 45 minutes - 1 hour depending on the thickness and cut of the chops.
Variations
Omit the Potatoes if you prefer.
Skip the whole Spices and add 1 tsp of Garam Masala Powder instead.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with Rice, Chapatti or Naan.
Serve Salads such as Kachumbur, Raita and Pickles.
