Masala Chai

Here is how you can create an authentic and aromatic cup of masala chai right in the comfort of your own home.

Get ready to indulge in the tantalising combination of spices, tea leaves, and creamy milk that make masala chai so irresistible.

Ingredients

  • 500 ml Water
  • 2 tsp loose Tea leaves or 3 tea bags
  • 4 tsp Sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp Chai Masala
  • 500 Milk

Instructions

In a pot, add water and bring it to a boil.

Add the Tea and Sugar and simmer for 1 minute.

Add the Tea leaves or Tea bags, and Chai Masala.

Then simmer for a further 5 minutes.

Add the milk to the pot and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Be careful not to let it boil over.

Simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the tea is well infused with the flavours of the spices.

Remove the pot from the heat and strain the tea into cups.

Variations

Adjust the quantity of Sugar according to your preference.

Add 1 inch of grated ginger

Serving Suggestion

Serve hot with Biscuits, Cake, Toast or Snacks such as Samosas or Pakoras.
